Sorry to show up past my expiration date, but I still have more to say about those soupy soup dumplings.

I heard about Shanghai 21 on the radio, and when I showed up, I thought it had to be good as I had to wait 45 MINUTES just to get in.

Once I got in, I requested one order of pork soup dumplings and one order of crab soup dumplings. I had the pork soup dumplings first, and don’t even get me started on this, the meat was weirdly pink and the soup tasted like bath water. The wrapper was just mid, yet it was still the best part of the dumpling. The same can be said for the crab soup dumplings as well.

I ordered scallion pancakes and they were surprisingly fantastic. If this website was called ilovescallionpancakes.net this place would get 5 stars, but (unfortunately for Shanghai 2 it’s not.

With the 45-minute wait followed by incredibly AVERAGE soup dumplings, this place can’t get anything more than 2.5 stars.
