Hing Kee – Chicago

HELLO! I’m finally back from my soup dumpling hiatus and ready to rumble! I recently went to a little town called Chicago, and — like I always do — I had to go in search of some soup dumplings. The reviews told me Hing Kee was the place to try. So I hopped on the El and headed to the dumps.

Unfortunately, it was a little hard to to find, but eventually we found it tucked away from the street in a little Asian mall. After I got into the place it only took a few minutes to get the soup dumplings.

I ordered the usual, pork and also crab and pork. It was soupy but the wrappers were too soggy and most of the dumplings broke as soon as I got a grasp on them. The soup tasted good but the pork meat tasted a little strange. The crab was quite jolly alright.

All in all, it’s not worth going on a plane for.
